GATE Exam
GATE (GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST IN ENGINEERING) 2018 Exam is an online examination conducted to test the understanding of candidate in undergraduate subjects of Engineering, Technology, Architecture and in postgraduate subjects of science. GATE 2018 Exam Score can be used for admissions in various Post graduate programs in various IIT’s, NIT’s and other centrally funded institutions. Nowadays various PSU’s are also hiring with the GATE Score.
Basic Features of GATE
- This is online Computer-based Test of 3 Hours which contains 65 Questions of Total 100 marks.
- The entire process of GATE 2018 will be done via online mode only i.e. from filling the application form to paying the fee.
- The payment must be done via online mode, however the selection of payment mode could depend on student (Net Banking, Debit/Credit card, and E-Challan)
- The online examination paper will contain some questions for which numerical answers must be keyed in by the candidate using the virtual keypad. The rest of the questions shall be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type.

How to Apply
Go to the official site of any of IIT’s. Apply for GATE Exam on the official website (after release of official notification for GATE 2018). Fill the basic details and after that upload the scanned photograph, signature and other mandatory details. After this section, you need to clear the payment section which you can do via net banking, credit/debit card, E-Challan. Lastly, check the status of the application
GATE Exam Pattern
GATE 2018 Exam is an online examination of three hours, it consist of 65 Questions (Out of which 35 Questions are of 2 Marks and 30 Questions are of 1 Mark). So the total exam is of 100 Marks.
The question paper consists of two types of Questions:
1. Multiple Choice Questions (In this 4 options are given and you have to choose one).
2. Numerical Answer Type Questions
There will be 2/3rd negative marking in 2 marks Questions and 1/3rd negative marking in 1 Mark Questions (Applicable only for MCQ’s) whereas there is no negative marking in Numerical Answer type Questions.
