RBI GRADE B SYLLABUS
Every year Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducts RBI Grade B Officer Exam to select eligible candidates for the position of Grade B officer in its various branches all across the country. As Reserve Bank of India offers an excellent pay scale and reputed job profile, it lures thousands of candidates every year to take this examination. With a handful of vacancy to be filled through RBI Grade B Exam, it is really important to prepare effectively for this exam. Selection for RBI Grade B Officers will be done through a country-wide competitive Examination in three phases i.e. Preliminary and Main examination followed by an Interview.
RBI GRADE B ELIGIBILITY
Candidates are required to follow the given criteria to be eligible for RBI Grade B Exam:
Must be a citizen of India
Must be a subject of Nepal
Must be a subject of Bhutan
Must be a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 who has the intention of settling permanently in India.
A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
Age Criteria: RBI has defined minimum age criteria for appearing in the RBI Officer (Grade ‘B’) examination. Candidates are required to be aged between 21 years and 30 years (both age included) to apply for RBI Grade B exam.
Age Relaxation: Candidates, who belong to the reserved category will be provided relaxation in their upper age as per the rules decided by the Board.

Educational Qualification: Candidate appearing for the RBI officer examination-2018 must be a graduate from a recognized university or institute. He/Shemust have attained 60% marks in the graduation while the same percentage is reduced to 50% for the candidates belonging to the reserved category. Candidates having Doctorate degree with aggregate 50% marks can also apply for the RBI examination. In addition to this, candidates having masters’ degree with 55% marks will be allowed to apply for the RBI Exam. Candidates having post graduate diploma in management or Masters of Business administration can also apply for the RBI Officer Grade B exam. Chartered Accountant (CA), Company secretary or Cost Accountant can also apply for this examination.
RBI Grade B Exam Pattern
RBI Grade B Exam is conducted in three phases:
Phase-I exam
phase-II exam and
interview process
Candidates are required to clear all the three phases in order to get a confirmed post as a Grade B Officer in Reserve Bank of India.

RBI GRADE B OFFICER INTERVIEW PROCESS
Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on aggregate marks obtained in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III of Phase II exam. Interview Process will carry 50 marks.
RBI Grade B Exam Syllabus
The syllabus of RBI Grade B exam is just like the other Bank Exams. The major sections from which the questions are asked are:
- Reasoning
- Quantitative Aptitude
- General Awareness and
- English Language
Apart from the above mentioned three sections in Mains Exam, an additional section of English (Written Skills) is also present through which a candidate is tested on his/her writing skills.
RBI Grade B Salary
All the Officers selected through RBI Grade B 2018 Exam will be given the annual salary of 12-14 Lac. Along with this CTC comes numerous emoluments and perks. The Pay Scale for the RBI grade B Officer is Rs. 35150-1750(9)-50900-EB-1750(2)-54400-2000(4)-62400. This means that you will be having basic pay of Rs. 35,150/- in which you will get an increment of Rs. 1,750/- up till nine years of your service. After the completion of nine years you will get into the executive band wherein the basic pay will be of Rs. 50,900/- and then again for the next two years you will get an increment of Rs. 1,750/- and further an increment of rs. 2000/- for the following 2 years thus ending up with the basic pay of Rs. 62,400/- and this is when you don’t get any promotion. Apart from the Basic Pay, multiple emoluments such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, Telephone Allowance, Conveyance Allowance etc. will also be provided.
RBI GRADE B EXAM APPLICATION FEES
A total of Rs. 850/- is the application fee to be paid by candidates belonging to General and OBC category for RBI Grade B exam. The same amount is reduced to Rs. 100/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category.
RBI Grade B 2018 Admit Card
The RBI Grade B Admit Card will be released separately for both Phase-I and Phase-II exam. The admit card for Phase-II Exam will be issued to candidates who have qualified the Phase-I exam of RBI Grade B.
RBI Grade B Exam Results
The results for RBI Grade B Exam will be released after the completion of each phase of the exam. A candidate is required to qualify both Phase-I and Phase-II exam to get a chance to sit for the interview process. The merit list is prepared in the descending order of the marks obtained by candidates after the interview process is complete. The final selection is based on how well you do in your interview.
