PM Kisan Man Dhan Yojana
PM Kisan Man Dhan Yojana: Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 12 in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana aims to secure the lives of farmers.
Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana will secure the lives of 5 crore small and marginal farmers by providing a minimum pension worth Rs 3000 each month, to those who attain 60 years of age.
Kisan Man Dhan Yojana: Important Points
The Union Government has kept aside funds worth Rs 10,774 crores for the scheme for the next three years.
All small and marginal farmers, who are currently aged between 18 and 40 years, will be eligible to apply for the scheme.
The farmer’s monthly contribution can be made from the installments of PM-KISAN or through CSCs.
Ekalvya Model Residential Schools
The Prime Minister also launched 462 Ekalvya Model Residential Schools during his visit to Jharkhand.
The main aim of Ekalvya schools is to provide quality upper primary, secondary and senior secondary level education to Scheduled Tribe students in tribal-dominated areas. The scheme will be implemented in blocks with a tribal population of at least 20,000.
The Eklavya schools will not only serve as medium of education for tribal children but it will also have facilities for sports and skill development along with protection of local arts and culture.
The schools will be for tribal students studying from Class 6 to 12. The government will spend more than Rs one lakh a year on every tribal child in these schools.
The construction of the schools will be undertaken at Rs 10,000 crore in Odisha, Jharkhand, northeastern and other states in the next two years.
New Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha Building
PM Modi also inaugurated the new Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha Building and laid the foundation stone of the new Secretariat building at Ranchi. The construction of the assembly building began in 2016 for Rs 465 crore. It will be spread over a total area of 39 acres and will be equipped with all modern facilities.
PM Modi also inaugurated the multi-model vessel terminal built on the banks of river Ganga in Sahebganj.
