Panjab University Management Entrance Test ( PU MET )
PU MET Summary
Panjab University Management Entrance Test (PU MET) is conducted by Panjab University, and is a gateway for admission to MBA Programs at University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS). The management courses that are offered at UIAMS are as follows:

Candidates obtaining a valid score in PU MET shall further be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The weightage of the same is as follows:
- Written Test 85%
- Group Discussion 7.5%
- Personal Interview 7.5%
Admission to MBA (Infrastructural Management) shall be done only on the basis of Group Discussion and Personal Interview. No entrance test shall be conducted for the same.
PU MET Eligibility
PU MET eligibility criteria is as follows:
MBA (Retail Management) and MBA (Banking and Insurance Management)
- The candidate should have obtained a Bachelor’s or Master Degree in any discipline of Panjab University or of any other university which has been recognised by the syndicate as equivalent thereto with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate or
- The candidate should have passed in the final examination conducted by either (a) Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England, or (b) Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India or England or (c) Institute of Company Secretaries of India or
- The candidate should have passed AMIE examination with 50% marks or more after having passed the diploma examination with 60% marks or above and should be having at least 5 years research/teaching or professional experience
MBA (Information Technology & Telecommunications Management)
- The candidate should have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology, i.e. B.E./B. Tech. (in any Branch) of Panjab University or of any other University recognised by Panjab University as equivalent there to with at least 50% marks in the aggregate or
- The aspirant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in any Science subject with Physics and/or Mathematics of Panjab University or of any other University recognised by Panjab University as equivalent there to with at least 50% marks in the aggregate or
- The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications (BCA) of Panjab University or any of the other University recognised by the Panjab University as equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in the aggregate or
- The aspirant should have cleared AMIE examination with 50% marks or more after having passed the diploma examination with 60% marks or above and have at least 5 years research/teaching or professional experience
MBA (Pharmaceutical Management)
- The aspirant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy of Panjab University or of any other university recognised by Panjab University as equivalent there to with at least 50% marks in aggregate or
- The candidate must have a M.B.B.S of Panjab University or of any other university recognised by Panjab University as equivalent there to with at least 50% marks in aggregate or
- The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any Science subject of Panjab University or of any other University recognised by Panjab University as equivalent there to with at least 50% marks in the aggregate and a Diploma in Pharmacy of Panjab University or of any other University recognized by Panjab University as equivalent there to with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
PU MET Process
Step 1: Fill in the Application form
Candidates willing to appear for PU MET need to register themselves for the exam. Candidates belonging to General category need to pay Rs 2100 and candidates belonging to SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD) need to register by paying Rs 1050.
The fee needs to be deposited in the SBI Bank using website generated Challan.
Step 2: Download PU MET 2018 Admit Card
Candidates who register successfully for the exam will receive their Roll number slip at least 10 days before the exam. This slip will be generated online and test-takers can download the same from the official website. To access the admit card, candidates needs to use their login and password.
Step 3: Appear for PU MET
Candidates who register for the exam and receive their admit cards are eligible to appear for PU MET 2018. The exam will be conducted for a duration of 2 hours and candidates will need to answer questions based on General Knowledge, Economics and Business Environment Awareness, Data Interpretation and problem solving, Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability/ Reasoning and English Comprehension.
Step 4: Check PU MET Result
Test-takers can expect the result of the exam to be declared within one and a half months from the date of exam. Candidates must note that the result of the Entrance Test will not be sent to the candidates. The scorecard can be viewed online by entering the application number and password.
Step 5: Group Discussion and Personal Interview
Candidates who clear the PU MET exam will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates must note that the number of candidates that will be called for the GD-PI will be eight times the total number of seats of all these courses in each category.
PU MET Exam Centers
Candidates must note that PU MET will be conducted only at Chandigarh centre. Candidates must make sure that they reach the exam centre at least an hour before the reporting time. Candidates who are new to Chandigarh, must check out the exam centre at least a day before the date of exam.
Candidates must make sure that they do not visit the exam centre without the admit card. Candidates not having admit cards will not be allowed to appear for the exam.
