• Admission Process
• The registration process for admission .in new academic session in meritorious

schools for 4600 seats (appended as annexure -T) will commence from l st January of evety year. The registration fee will be dedded by the Department and will be informed in the public notice for admission in meritorious schools.

• The students from the following schools will be eligible to apply for admission

in meritorious schools:

• Students studying m government ‘schools and appearing m matriculation examination to be conducted by Punjab School Education Board (PSEB).
• Students studying in Dashmesh Girls Senior Secondary School> Badal; Talwandi

Sabo (Distt. Bathinda); Kotla Sultan (Distt. Amritsar) and Adarsh & Nlodal Schools under PEDB/ PPP Mode.

• Students of government aided schools and private schools affiliated with Punjab School Education Board, can also apply against ten percent seats reserved for them if they posses documentary evidence of having Atta Dal/smart card or any equivalent

• RESERVATION
• Reservation to Atta Dal card/Smart Card holders
  • Ten percent seats are reserved for students of government aided schools and private schools affiliated with Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), who belong to the family entitled to the Atta Dal Scheme of the Department of Food and Supplies e. they must be smart card holders.
  • 1t will be mandatory for the candidates from government aided and private

schools affiliated to PSEB for taking benefit of this reservation of ten percent seats to show latest Atta Dal/smart card or any equivalent card which is duly countersigned by competent authority of Department of Food and Supply, Punjab under the seal of his/her office. The countersignature should not be older than six months.

• However, if the eligible students arc not available under this quota, then vacant seats of this quota will be filled from general merit list of girls and boys respectively in the ratio of 60:40.

• Reservation to disabled candidates (gids and boys)
  • As per the notification no. 11/5/2025-1SS (6SS)/92 dated 09.01.2021 of Department of Social Security and \Yemen & Child Development, Government of Punjab, ten percent seats are for disabled girls and five percent seats are reserved for disabled boys.
  • The applicants \Vho are disabled whh fo1ty percent or more disability may get admission in Meritorious Schools as per notification 11/5/2025-1 SS (6SS)/92 dated 09.01.2021 of Department of Social Securily and Women & Child Development, Government of Punjab.
  • This reservation of ten percent seats to disabled girls and five percent seats to disabled boys is available only for the disabled candidates who possess valid disabled certificate issued by competent authority mentioning disability percentage of forty percent or more as per guidelines of Government of Punjab. • However, if the eligible students are not available under this quota then the vacant seats of this quota will be filled from general merit list of girls and boys

respectively in the ratio of 60:40.

• Reservation for Girls in Womcn Headed Household
  • As per the notification no l l/5/2025-3SS(2SS)/74 dated 01.2021, of Department of Social Security and \Vomen & Child Development, twenty percent seats reserved for Women-Headed Household.
  • Applicant needs to show a valid proof of \\!omen Headed Household for taking

benefit under this category for getting admission in meritorious schools.

• It is further clarified that benefit of twenty percent quota under this category will be offered to girls only as per the notification no. 1 l/5/2025-3SS(2SS)/74 dated 01.2021, of the Department of Social Security and Women & Child Development of Government of Punjab. Any woman can be Flead of Household- she may be grandmother (in case of death of both parents), may be mother (in case of death of father, divorced, disabled father, who is not fit to work/earn, absence of father from home for long period, minimum seven years) or may be elder sister (in case of death of both parents). In case of death either both parents or father death/missing/disabled/divorce, relevant document /certificate issued by competent authority will be mandatory.

However, if the eligible students are not available under this quota then the vacant seats of this quota will be filled from general merit list of girls.

• SELECTION CRITERIA
• The admission will be undertaken on merit based on the entrance The entrance test will be comprised of 100 marks from the subjects English, Maths and Science. For the candidates to qualify this test, minimum 33% marks are required in

each subject with overall 50% marks in the entrance test. In case of a tie in merit

preference will be given to a candidate elder in age.

• COUNSELLING, SCRUTINY AND VERlFICATION
• Online centralized counselling will be held for the Project Director, Assistant Project Director and Superintendent, Meritorious Society shall supervise the whole counselling/admission process. District level Committees will be constituted to scrutinize and verify the authenticity of the documents before allotting seats to students in school as per merit and availability of seats.
• The waiting list of remaining candidates with their merit will be displayed on the websjte from which the vacant seats will be filled after the first phase of online

counselling. It is cJarified that the student shall report the school within one week after getting the admission in counselling process. In case the students failed to report in respective school within the prescribed days their seats shall be considered as vacant.

• FEES
• No fee/fund will be charged from the students except registration
