BABA BANDA SINGH BAHADUR (BBSBAFPA) ENTRANCE EXAM
To join BBSBAFPA a candidate must appear in the entrance exam conducted by BBSB Armed Forces Preparatory Academy.
The entrance procedure comprises the following steps:-
(a) Advertisement inviting applications from candidates will be published in all leading newspapers in the month of Nov/Dec 2017.
(b) Applications to be forwarded on line or, if computer facilities are not available, then a hard copy will be submitted before 10 Jan 2018.
(c) Entrance test will be held on 14 January 2018 at BBSB AFPA Fatehgarh Sahib.
(d) Merit list will be prepared and hosted on Website.
(e) First 160 Boys and 80 Girl Candidates in merit list will be called for an interview in Jan/Feb 2018.
(f) Selected candidates will be required to undergo a detailed medical examination, which can be conducted at any govt hospital or private hospital but NOT a private doctor.
(g) Call letters will be issued to candidates found fit in all respects and will be required to deposit first year fees by 15 April 2018.
(h) Selected candidates will be required to join the institute in April.
Eligibility Criteria
� Indian Residents.
� Date of birth � Born after 02 July 2001 for boys and Born after 02 Jul 1999 for girls.
� Medically fit in all respects as per defence norms.
� Boys studying in 10th class and Girls studying in 12th class.
Q1. What is the minimum eligibility age for joining the Academy?
A1. The DOB should not be before 02 July 2002 for boys for NDA +2 integrated course whereas not before 02 July 2000 for girls to join graduate integrated course.
Q2. In which class should the student be studying?
A2. Boys studying in 10th class and girls studying in 12th class are eligible to join.
Q3. Can a 10th pass out student appear in the test?
A3. Yes, but he must meet the age criteria.
Q4. Since when is this Academy in existence?
A4. The first batch started from academic session 2016-2017.
Q5. Where will the student attend +1 & +2 classes?
A5. The +1 & +2 classes is conducted in the NDA Academic block of BBSB AFPA.
Q6. Which board the academy is following i.e., CBSE or PSEB?
A6. The academy has tied up affiliation with CBSE Board.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
For NDA Cadets
Army Wing: 12th class pass of the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent examination conducted by a state education board or a university.
Air Force and Naval Wing: 12th class pass of the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination. The benefit of this is they can save one year.
However candidates who are yet to qualify in the 12th Class or equivalent examination are required to submit the proof of passing 12th Class by the prescribed date and no request for extending this date will be entertained on the grounds of late conduct of Board/University Examination, delay in declaration of results or any other ground whatsoever. Candidates appearing in the 11th class exam are not eligible for this examination.
Q7. Is this a residential course?
A7. Yes, it is a full time residential course.
Q8. Where will the female cadets attend graduation classes?
A8. The female cadets will be admitted in Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib for the under graduate courses of their choice.
Q9. Which University is the MGC affiliated to?
A9. The MGC is an autonomous college affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala.
Q10. What are the rules?
A10. The academic rules as laid down by the education board/ university will be followed. The detailed Code of Conduct will be issued to the selected candidates.
Q11. What is prohibited in the Academy.
A11 Ragging,drinking,smoking,drug use and all other anti social activities are prohibited.
Q12. What is the Fee structure?
A12. The fee structure is Rs 1.5 lac per year which may be revised as per the directions of the management at most once a year.
Q13. Can the fees be paid in installments?
A13. Generally the fee has to be paid in one go before the course starts. However in exceptional case Rs 80,000/- fee will have to be paid before the course starts and balance may be paid in two equal installments of Rs 35,000/- each to be paid by 31 May 18 and 31 July 18, once written approval is taken from the Commandant. Any delay beyond permitted dates will invite a penalty of Rs 100/- per working day.
Q14. What all will be covered in this Fee structure?
A14. The fee includes admission and school/university fee, Personality Development and grooming fee, Pre SSB training, Basic medical facilities including medical insurance, laundry services, Fitness club membership, transportation, hostel and food charges.
Q15. What could be the other expenditures?
A15. Expenses on formal/informal dress, books, stationary, specific medical treatment etc.
Q16. What all documents are required for entrance examination?
A16. Following documents are required for the entrance examination:
a). Registration form downloaded.
b). Photo on registration form to be attested by school Principal/Headmaster.
c). DOB proof.
d). Rs 500/- registration fees.
e). Aadhar card/ Residential Proof.
f ). Blue pen, pencil, clip board.

Q18. Can candidates from other states apply for this course?
A18. Yes. However he must be an Indian National.
Q19. Whether students can go on leave/week end leave?
A19. No leave will be sanctioned in the first one month. Based on the students performance at the end of first month he/she will be considered for leave. Further week end leave may be permitted on request. The course will be conducted from Monday to Saturday.
Q20. What type of meals will be provided?
A20. Generally the Vegetarian diet will be served. The students will be served morning tea, breakfast, lunch, evening tea followed by dinner. Meals variation will be catered based on monthly menu as decided by student mess committee. No aerated soft drinks will be allowed.
Q21. What will be the daily routine of the cadets of +2 course?
A21. The daily routine of cadets will be as under:

Class Room Teaching 8:15AM- 1 PM Lunch I-2 PM

Dinner : 7:30 – 8:30 Pm

Rest : 10 PM – 5:30 AM
